Champions League: How to play

The Game:

The Champions League Predictor is loads of fun and really easy to play. The point of the game is for you to try and guess the correct results each Champions League game that takes place through the 2016/17 season. All you need to do is fill out your score predictions for each round as it opens – rounds consist of sixteen fixtures – and you can earn points for correct predictions. Make sure to check in regularly to complete each round.

Leagues:

Registering for Champions League Predictor will automatically put you in the overall and team leagues. One of the new features to our Champions League Predictor is creating your own leagues. Create a public league, which anybody on the website can search for and join, or your own private league, which is by invite only and you can send out a unique password that players must enter to join. 

How to get involved:

  • Go to the “Predictor” section of the website
  • You will be taken to a landing page where you can pick your team
  • Once doing that, you will move onto the Predictor landing page, which shows you the current fixtures
  • Select the score for each fixture
  • Save your predictions by clicking “Submit Picks”
  • Check the leaderboards to see where you rank - there is an overall and team leaderboard , as well as leaderboards per team
  • You can mingle with other players by clicking through to the “Chat” section

Move through the different rounds by clicking on them, but you can only predict for rounds that are open. You will get a notification as rounds open. You can navigate to Predictor at any time from the main menu.

The Points:

Five Points – Getting the exact results

Three Points – Guessing the right margin (eg, win by one goal)

Two Points – Guessing the result but not the score or margin

Zero points – Incorrect predictions

The Winner:

At any point during the season, there may be prizes up for grabs, and at the end of the competition an overall winner will be determined.

Should there be two or more players are tied on points, the winner will be determined using the following tie-breaker:

The user with the most spot on predictions (predicting the exact score) will be the winner. Should there still be a tie after this then:

The user with the most correct winning margins (eg. correctly predicting win by two goals) will be the winner. Should there still be a tie after this:

The user with the most correct predictions (eg. predicting a win for the right team) will be the winner. 

The winners will be audited and their predictions will be manually checked to ensure that no cheating is allowed.

In the event of dishonesty – the winner will be disqualified and another winner will be selected. Click here to read full terms and conditions.
