Commentary
90’ Close! Myeni fires a shot direct on goal, but the keeper does brilliantly to tip it wide of the post and behind for a corner.
90’ The resulting corner comes to nothing, though, as Etoile head clear and launch a quick break.
90’ The Etoile fans are in full voice, and it's do-or-die time for the Buccaneers now...
90’ FULL-TIME: Etoile du Sahel 1-0 Orlando Pirates. Heartbreak for Pirates, who stumble at the final hurdle following an impressive run to the final.
89’ Erasmus wins a free-kick just outside the Etoile box after being pushed in the face. There's a big debate amongst the Pirates players, who are vying to take this one.
87’ Pirates are playing at a high tempo, but their passes are often off target.
85’ Close! Gabuza forces the keeper into an acrobatic save with a shot from outside the box that looked to be heading for the top-left corner.
84’ Etoile are trying to take the sting out of the game, punting the ball upfield or out for a throw regularly. Substitution for the hosts now as Saada comes on Tej.
82’ Myeni tries to his luck from range, but can't get it on target. Another Etoile player goes down, asking for treatment. Looks like he is cramping up...
81’ Pirates have put in several crosses in the past few minutes, but the Etoile defence is holding firm.
80’ Gabuze bearly wriggles free in the danger area, but he is forced to play it back to a team-mate after nearly losing the ball. That's better from Pirates, who are finally starting to turn the screws.
79’ If the score remains unchanged, this will be Etoile's 14th clean sheet in their last 21 home games.
77’ Pirates lose the ball in midfield again following a spell of good possession. They're quickly running out of time to turn things around here. Etoile, meanwhile, seem happy to see out the remainder of the match, defending their slender advantage.
73’ We're back under way following a brief break as an Etoile player receives treatment on the pitch. It looked like a bit of play-acting, to be fair, and the Pirates players are not happy.
71’ Rakhale comes off for Pirates, Myeni comes on in his place. Menzi Masuku replaces Makola.
70’ Etoile launch a quick break, but Pirates defend well and hit back with a quick movement of their own. The move eventually breaks down, however, with Gcaba lucky to avoid a booking following a clumsy challenge.
69’ Close! Pirates get the ball into the danger area at the second attempt, but the keeper quickly snaps up the ball at the second attempt after saving at his near post.
68’ Pirates win a another free-kick, this time out on the left, but the attempted cross is blocked by the wall, who encroached on the attempted pass. Brigui picks up a yellow cards for his troubles.
65’ Rakhale tries to keep the ball in play, but deflects it out for a throw-in neat the halfway line. Pirates are looking a bit disjointed at the moment. Tinkler may opt to bring on a substitute or two in a bid to swing the momentum in favour of his side.
63’ Etoile win a throw in on the right-hand flank and try a speculative effort from distance that takes a deflection on the way out for a corner. Acosta shrugs clear of his marker in the box, but his downward header hits the ground before bouncing just over t
61’ Pirates have less than 30 minutes to find a leveller. A goal from the Soweto giants would send the match to penalties if it ends in a stalemate.
60’ Pirates win a corner of their own on the left flank but it is headed back out for throw in. The Bucs play it long but the attempted pass is repelled once again.
59’ An Etoile corner goes to waste as the attempted cross evades everyone in the area before rolling out of play for a goal kick.
58’ Rakhale is kicking himself after racing clear of the offside trap but failing to control the ball neatly. His poor first touch allows the Etoile keeper to race out and collect the ball at his feet.
57’ Rakhale swings in an early cross from the right-hand flank, but Etoile get to it first and clear their lines.
56’ The Buccaneers are trying to build up from the back, instead of playing it long, but Etoile are having none of it, closing down quickly to win the ball back.
55’ We're just over ten minutes in and it's been end-to-end stuff thus far. Pirates are chasing an equaliser but have struggled to create clear-cut chances as yet.
54’ Etoile break quickly after defending the corner well and win a throw in on the right-hand flank. They play it quickly and work the ball down to the byline before Ovono comes off his line to snap up an attempted pass towards the centre of the box.
53’ Pirates launch a long throw into the box and the Etoile defence heads behind for a corner.
50’ Etoile are perhaps guilty of over-playing on the right-hand flank, and Pirates win the ball before launching a quick counter. The final ball is lacking, though, and the hosts reclaim possession.
48’ Pirates are playing with a real sense of urgency now and they force a corner following a shot from Gabuza. However, the resulting ball into the box comes to nothing as Etoile defend bravely.
47’ Pirates win a corner on the left-hand side and the resulting ball into the box falls to the feat of Jele, who fires straight into the grateful arms of Ovono.
46’ The second half gets under way, Pirates playing from left to right with the wind at the backs. Ovono was a busy man in the first half and will be hoping for a bit more protection from his back four in the second half.
45’ Pirates look to break quickly and play a diagonal pass to Erasmus, who is caught offside.
45’ Etoile are awarded another free-kick, this time on the right-hand flank. Acosta was surrounded by four Pirates players there and did well to keep possession before drawing the foul.
45’ HALF-TIME. Etoile du Sahel 1-0 Orlando Pirates (2-1 aggregate).
44’ Etoile win a free-kick just inside the Pirates half, down on the left flank. The resulting ball into the box eventually goes out for a goal kick.
42’ We haven't seen much of Gabuza, and he is penalised after clattering an Etoile defender. Pirates had sent several men forward to join the attack but Etoile have done well to restrict Pirates' chances in the latter part of the first stanza.
41’ A frustrated Matlaba is fortunate to escape a booking after making a rash challenge near the halfway line.
39’ Etoile are moving the ball around with crisp, neat passes and hold on to possession for a spell before playing it long. The Pirates defence is quick to snuff out the danger, though...
37’ Etoile make some headway down the left flank and play a good ball into the box. However, the resulting header at goal from Acosta flies just inches over the bar.
36’ Pirates are looking to play out from the back, but are having no luck at the moment as Etoile are quick to close down and harass when they don't have the ball.
35’ Eric Tinkler's men haven't seen much of the ball since falling behind and that will certainly be a cause for concern.
33’ Bucs full-back Thabo Matlaba gives away a free-kick on the edge of the area following a clumsy challenge from behind. Etoile try what looks like a training ground routine, but Pirates are alert to the danger and eventually clear their lines
29’ Ovono is called into action again and does well to punch clear from a dangerous, swerving effort from long range. Substitute Da Silva was the man with the long-range effort. He's had a notable impact since replacing the injured Bounedjah.
27’ Etoile are playing with their tails up now as Pirates are forced to sit back and defend.
24’ GOAL! Etoile get the early breakthrough they were looking for. The goal is credited to Jemal following a defensive mix-up in the Pirates area. Happy Jele sliced the ball towards goal and Ovono managed to get a touch before Jemal pounced on the rebound.
22’ Kermit Erasmus is fouled just inside the Etoile half and Pirates look to work the resulting free-kick into the danger area. The final pass is too heavy, however, and the danger passes.
20’ Pirates win a free-kick in a good position on the right-hand flank, but the chance comes to nothing after Gcaba is adjudged to have fouled his marker.
19’ It doesn't look good for Bounedjah, who is hobbling on the side of the pitch. It's clear he won't be able to continue the game.
18’ Close! Rakhale latches on to a through pass and with just the keeper to beat, he drags his shot just wide of the far post from the right-hand side of the box.
17’ The Buccaneers soak up the pressure before hitting Etoile on the counter-attack. The move comes to nothing, though, following a call for offside.
15’ Worrying scenes for the Tunisians as Bounedjah is stretchered off to receive treatment.
14’ Ayanda Gcaba gives away a free-kick on the edge of his own area after hacking down Etoile frontman Bounedjah from behind.
12’ The hosts are growing in confidence and try their luck down the left flank, playing a through ball towards the edge of the box. However, Ovono races off his line again to snap up the ball. Another warning for Pirates there...
9’ Ovono has been called into action several times already, and he's at it again with a good catch to snuff out a cross into the six-yard box.
8’ The Pirates defence looks solid and organised, and they repel another Etoile attack down the left flank.
7’ Pirates are mixing things up at the moment, playing quick, short passes before playing it long to Erasmus in the danger area. However, the attempted cross is too deep and keeper collects with ease.
5’ Etoile are content to sit back and soak up the pressure with a view to hitting Pirates on the break. They do just that and very nearly create a clear-cut opportunity, but goalkeeper Felipe Ovono is quickly off his line to snuff out the danger.
3’ It's been a nervy start to the game as both sides struggle to string more than a few passes together. Pirates have started brightly and are playing on the front foot.
1’ Orlando Pirates get the game under way, in their favoured black strip and playing from right to left.

It seems like to me once a player made an error in a game coach Eric Tinkler just bench that certain player that's what happened to Ovono against wits n it also happened yesterday Issa Sarr was benched I really don't know the reason but I'm not a coach I'm just a supporter

@SST Mahlangu we have the right to criticize boet that etoile planned well against us in our first leg but why did our coach played the same players who struggled in that game ,happy jele just came from injury handed an ambard those guys closed down Rakhale makola n pressed jele but Tinkler was busy watching other game myb he waited for the miracle there was a big hole in the middle of the park those guys ran riot but he didn't c that as a problem to u Mr Mahlangu football is a game of opinions.I don't have a problem with the guys who started supporting Bucs 5 years ago n some dudes are still young so plz respect other peoples opinions

Qcaba and Gabuza played very well, I wonder why there are no words of appreciation but if committed or missed chances are rebuked on these platform
