Hero Ronaldo On Bayern Show & Incredible Record

Hero Cristiano Ronaldo On Bayern Munich Show & Incredible Record

By David Kappel - Apr 19, 2017 07:00 PM @kappilinho

Cristiano Ronaldo wrote the headlines as he twice helped his side to come back against Bayern Munich on Tuesday, and the Portuguese has now commented on his brilliant display and the record he broke along the way.

The Real Madrid superstar scored a perfect hat-trick to help his side beat Bayern 4-2 on the night and 6-3 on aggregate.

His triple took his UEFA Champions League tally to an incredible 100 goals – a milestone no other player has achieved in the competition's history.

"I said after the first leg that I prepare myself in order to reach the end of the season in good shape," Ronaldo told UEFA.com.

"It's something I've struggled to do over the last three or four years, but the most important thing is that I feel good, that the side are playing very well.

"We're on course to reach our targets: we're in the semis, and we're top of the Liga too. We're really happy.

"As for my limits, I always try to play well, and I'm fortunate enough to have scored three really important goals (on Tuesday) and I'm over the moon (about my record)."

Ronaldo was also asked if he deserved a street in Madrid named after him following his superb performance, which was only topped by official Man of the Match Marcelo, and responded: "I only ask that they don't whistle me here. Never. I'm not bothered about anything else, but I don't want them to whistle me.

"I always give my all and when I don't score, I try to work hard for the team."

The 32-year-old then insisted his side can almost "smell" their 12th European Cup triumph after reaching a record-breaking seventh consecutive UCL semi-final.

"The positives from the game stay with me, without doubt. We still can't smell the 12th European Cup, but it's getting close. We hope we can win it," he added.

"Real Madrid in the Champions league… it's a special competition. We want to win it again this year. It would be something special and we're going to fight for it."

Real were joined in the next round by crosstown rivals Atletico Madrid, who advanced to the semi-finals after beating Leicester City 2-1 on aggregate. Los Blancos could become the first side to defend the UCL title since the inception of the new format in 1992.

Refs are being bought by Spanish teams even Arturo Vidal didn't deserve card. U mean the refs are sooo blind.
