Duo Miss Nedbank Cup Quarterfinals
Two Platinum Stars Defenders Are Suspended In The Nedbank Cup
Two Platinum Stars players will be forced to sit out their side’s make or break Nedbank Cup clash against Golden Arrows.
Dikwena, who recently progressed to the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup, have struggled to maintain their league form from last season when they finished third, but are still in with a shot at silverware.
Cavin Johnson’s side take on Abafana Bes’thende at 15h00 on Saturday as they try and book their spot in the semifinals of the tournament, however, they will have to do so without Sphamandla Mlilo and their captain, Vuyo Mere.
Mlilo is still sitting in the stands as he serves the second game of his two-match ban for a red card earlier this month, while Mere picked up his eighth yellow card of the season in the defeat to Polokwane City.
None of the other seven clubs have any suspension concerns for this specific game but there are several players who could potentially miss the next Absa Premiership game if they are booked this weekend.
