Big Saturday For Jali As He Targets Euro Silverware
Andile Jali Could Win His First European Trophy On Saturday
Andile Jali could get his hands on his first piece of silverware in Europe this weekend as KV Oostende look to try and lift the Beker van Belgie trophy.
The 26-year-old has not had the most enjoyable of seasons in Belgium after injuries disrupted his campaign, seeing him spend the vast majority of it either on the sidelines or on the bench.
However, Jali was reinstated to the starting line-up as Oostende secured a spot in the Championship round with a 2-2 draw against Standard Liege over the weekend, giving him hope of a spot in Yves Vanderhaeghe’s cup final XI.
With the Bafana Bafana international due to link up with the national team for friendlies against Angola and Guinea-Bissau the day after the cup final, Jali will be eager to try and land a gold medal to show his international teammates in Johannesburg.
Jali has made two substitute appearances during Oostende’s run to the final of the Belgian cup, and he will be hoping to make his third appearance of the competition when they take on Zulte-Waragem in Brussels on Saturday night.
Another player that South African fans may be interested in is former Kaizer Chiefs striker, Knowledge Musona, who is Oostende’s second highest scorer this season and could play a vital role for them if the club is to land their first ever major silverware.
