Masalesa Making Waves In Europe, Attracting Interest
Lehlogonolo Masalesa Is Making A Name For Himself In Greece
Lehlogonolo Masalesa appears to be making a name for himself with Larissa in Greece, with the midfielder picking up rave reviews in his new country.
Having joined AE Larissa on a free transfer at the start of the season, ‘Vieira’ has already cemented his place in the heart of the club’s midfield, playing 11 games and helping to turnaround their league fortunes.
Now, as the business end of the season draws closer, the former Orlando Pirates man will be looking to finish the season on a high and possibly try and force his way into this month’s Bafana Bafana squad for the upcoming friendlies.
Masalesa found Larissa in a bit of a relegation dogfight – with seven defeats in their previous 11 games – when he first joined the club, but having lost just four times since he arrived in January they are now six points clear of the relegation zone with seven games to play.
The midfielder’s form has not gone unnoticed in Greece it would seem, with the Siya crew being informed that there are now other clubs in Europe keeping a close eye on the 24-year-old as the Greek season comes to an end, and another potential move could be on the cards for the ex-Bidvest Wits man.
‘Vieira’ is once again expected to start when Larissa face Panionios on Saturday for the chance to move up even further away from the drop zone.
