Agent Discusses Mamelodi Sundowns Keeper's Contract
Mamelodi Sundown are set to renew the contract of one of their goalkeepers before his existing deal expires at the end of June this year.
Wayne Sandilands is in the final four months of his contract with the CAF Champions League winners, however, the 33-year-old’s representative, Glyn Binkin, has confirmed to Soccer Laduma that progressive talks and negotiations are currently taking place.
“We are in discussions with Sundowns and are very confident that we will finalise a deal shortly,” Binkin said in this week’s edition of Soccer Laduma.
Masandawana have recently tied down three of their first-team players on new deals at the club, namely Anthony Laffor, Denis Onyango and Wayne Arendse.
However, new contracts for the likes of Sandilands and the team’s captain, Hlompho Kekana - whose current deal also expires at the end of June this year - are yet to be confirmed by the club.
Sandilands is currently second in the pecking order, behind Onyango, however, has been influential when getting the chance to step up to the plate for the team.
The 33-year-old featured in the starting line-up in Sundowns’ 2-1 victory over Kampala Capital City FC in the first-leg of their CAF Champions League campaign and it remains to be seen whether he will be given a run out again when they travel to Uganda on Saturday, March 18, for the return fixture.
