Sundowns Monitoring Stars' Winger
Mamelodi Sundowns Monitoring Free State Stars Player
In the latest Soccer Laduma newspaper, the Siya crew reported that Mamelodi Sundowns are monitoring Sinethemba Jantjie's progress at Free State Stars.
Since he recovered from an injury that delayed the start of his Stars career, Jantjie has established himself as one of the more important members of Serame Letsoaka's team.
The player's progress is being monitored by Sundowns scouts, with a view to luring him to Chloorkop in the future, according to sources.
In April last year, during his time with Mbombela United, the winger was expected to go to Sundowns for a trial, as reported by the Siya crew at the time.
But Ea Lla Koto were quick to sign the 28-year-old on a pre-contract as his deal with Mbombela was coming to an end. Having concluded his switch from Mbombela to Stars at the end of the 2015/16 campaign, Jantjie picked up an injury that delayed his progress with the Bethlehem-based outfit.
But the Whittlesea-born winger has been doing well for Letsoaka's side since recovering, although the team is still struggling to pick up points.
"Sinethemba Jantjie has been doing well for Free State Stars since he recovered from his injury. He is regaining his form and is doing well. That boy is being closely monitored by Sundowns. They started following his progress during his time playing in the NFD. He should have gone to Sundowns for a trial last year, before he signed with Free State Stars," a source told the Siya crew.
