Losper Close To Full Recovery

Toriq Losper Close To Full Recovery

By Soccer Laduma - Mar 15, 2017 08:53 AM

Ajax Cape Town’s Toriq Losper is close to full recovery after sustaining an injury last year September, which kept him out of action for most of the 2016/17 campaign.

The 24-year-old suffered a blow to his knee last year, with his last appearance for the Urban Warriors dating back to their fixture against Cape Town City on September, 23.

The Cape Town-based club’s Head of Medical, Jantho Greyling has issued an update on the playmaker’s recovery.

“Toriq Losper is doing very well at the moment, he is sort of 75% there. He is seeing the specialist on the 22nd of March for his last follow-up and from there on we will probably be able to start going at 100%,” Greyling told the club’s official website.

“He is currently at about 75% at his speed that he is doing at the moment so doing some cone drills etc. He is outside already, jogging and running. But we will probably know by the 22nd if he will be able to go full tilt.”

Greyling then went on to reveal that Losper might only return to first-team training in April and it remains to be seen whether the player will make any appearances for the club in the current 2016/17 season.

“My prediction is that he will probably start to faze back into First Team training from April onwards so that is where we sit with Toriq Losper at the moment,” he concluded.

The midfielder made just two appearances for Ajax this season, both under the mentorship of former head coach Roger de Sa.

The Urban Warriors next face Free State Stars at Athlone Stadium on Friday, March 18.
