Chelsea To Hijack Manchester United Deal For Real Madrid Star?
Chelsea could upset their former manager Jose Mourinho as they are reportedly planning to hijack Manchester United's transfer for a Real Madrid star.
The Blues, who lifted the 2016/17 Premier League title but are yet to make any new additions to their team ahead of the next campaign, apparently want to hijack Alvaro Morata's potential move to Old Trafford, as reported by the Daily Mirror.
Antonio Conte is said to be keen on buying Morata after already luring him to Juventus – however, despite signing him for the Bianconeri, the tactician and player never actually worked together because the coach began his work as Italy boss before Morata arrived in Turin.
The Italian apparently sees the 24-year-old Real striker as the perfect replacement for Diego Costa.
Morata, though, is understood to have agreed personal terms with United already, but Chelsea's rivals are yet to settle on a transfer fee with Los Blancos.
Blues owner Roman Abramovich has now reportedly sanctioned a last-minute bid to sign Morata.
Chelsea have also been heavily linked with a move for Everton's Romelu Lukaku, while Conte reportedly told Costa that he is not in his planning for next season.
Morata scored 20 goals in 43 games for Real last season, and is apparently keen to leave the Santiago Bernabeu in order to become the main striker at a new club.
