'Messi The Greatest Of All Time'

'Lionel Messi The Greatest Of All Time'

By Kurt Buckerfield - Jun 13, 2017 09:51 AM @KurtLaduma

A former Manchester United striker has given his opinion on the Lionel Messi/Cristiano Ronaldo debate. Here is why he picked the Argentine over the Portuguese.

Morata Wants Bale To Join Him At Man Utd?

For as long as they have competed on the same stage, Messi and Ronaldo have been compared to one another, and that debate will not end any time soon.

While the Argentine has five Ballons d'Or to his name, the Real Madrid man currently has four, although he has been tipped to win the next one at the end of the year.

Former United forward Teddy Sheringham has now weighed in on the argument as to which player is superior, and he picked Messi, insisting that the Argentine can do crazy things others simply cannot do.

"People always have this conversation of who is the best player in the world, Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo, and, for me, it's Messi," he told Esquire.

"It is ridiculous the things that he can do. He's the best of all time for me.

"I didn't really see Pele play, and Diego Maradona was special, but in my opinion Messi is even better. And, perhaps, has his head screwed on a bit better."

Adebayor Reveals 'Worst Decision' Of His Career

While Ronaldo won the UEFA Champions League and La Liga titles with Los Blancos last season, Messi was excellent for FC Barcelona in terms of goals, scoring 54 times in 52 matches across all competitions.

Do you agree with Sheringham's sentiments? Let us know in the comments section below.

@CaptainJackSparrow, I've had it with you. You clearly don't have a universal football taste, yours is typical Banana Banana taste. Now, the following is what some legends of the game expressed about Messi, you can google it. "For me to watch Messi is a pleasure - it's like having an or gasm - it's incredible." - Luis Figo

No one in the history of professional football cannot dribble a ball. That is the basic soccer skill needed to be a professional footballer. Anyone can dribble but only one person can say whether or not someone's dribbling is beautiful, because it pleases them not me. Don't ever say Ronaldo can't dribble, he practically does it in every game he plays in.

Only fools disagree, Leo cuts through defences with his magical runs. He doesn't rely on penalties and tap ins to shine!

That's a definition for beautiful. Now let me tell you this, there is only one person in the world who can say something is beautiful. I'm not a fan of Ronaldo personally I prefer Messi, I'm not a fan of chiefs I'm a pirates fan but I won't say Ronaldo can't dribble, why? Did he forget? Because he doesn't do it anymore doesn't mean he can't.

@CaptainJackSparrow, to make this clear for you, Jabu Pule not Jabu Mahlangu was a very good dribbler and did so beautifully even though he also included some showboating with it. Please stop this thing about Scara Ngobese you are embarrassing yourself far too worse.

@CaptainJackSparrow, Cristiano Ronaldo cannot dribble even a single player sir. Scara Ngobese was not a dribbler. Stop deluding yourself. No one dribbles more beautifully and effectively than "the playstation", and that's Messi for you. But if you want to talk freestyle tricks or showboating then that's another subject, wake up!!!!

Maybe we should define BETTER vs BEAUTIFULLY vs EFFECTIVELY. And we should perhaps understand what I mean by anyone can claim that any other player dribbles better than any other player. That's why I even mentioned Ngobese because who is to say that his dribbling was not beautiful? Who is to say that Ronaldo's dribblibg is not better than Messi? You? All I'm saying is anyone can claim that anyone dribbles better than anyone else. But Messi does it well and effectively and he seldom makes mistakes, please read it carefully this time.

@Soni_JX, you are comparing apples to oranges and it's not making sense. How can you compare a cup competition to a league? Until you begin to use some thinking instead of feeling you will always be clouded from good judgement by your feminine emotions and will make comments that lacks logic. Filling your comments with vulgar won't help your situation. It is more rational to compare our Copa del rey triumph's significance to Juventus champions league runners up. Wake up!!!!

You are now edging the other end of bath......you are dazed by a mass of bubbles. Comparing being runner up to lifting a trophy exposes your SECOND FIDDLE MENTALITY.......Being a runner up in football means you won nothing idiot. Your are trying too hard to amplify this fraudster of yours. Messi has not achieved anything but getting "almost" there......nothing, I mean he achieved nothing. Fifa, AFA, Concaf acknowledges that fact. Hence on the Fifa website, it's noted that sis-messi is yet to win a Fifa endorsed national team trophy. He has NOTHING to show at national team level....You level of stupidity is beyond comparison.....as for claiming that being W. CUP "runner ups" equals to winning Euro Cup. Hai, I give up on you......you are a rare case. Your obsession with the short fraudster has permanently paralysed your brain. You are simply brain damaged. You know nothing about football.....nothing boi. As for celebrating runner up as if someone won anything......your are much dumb than I thought.

@leendomint, dribbling is measured by how many opposition players you leave behind. No one is a better dribbler than a player who leaves four to five defenders behind in each dribbling move almost every game, and that's Messi for you. But you obviously need to enlighten yourself on what dribbling is first.
