Neymar: I Didn't Quit FC Barcelona To Be Main Man
New Paris Saint-Germain signing Neymar has rubbished claims that he quit FC Barcelona in order to be the star player of a team.
The Brazilian recently became the most expensive player in the history of the football when he signed for PSG from Barca for €222 million (R3.46 billion).
Many believe that Neymar's move to France was motivated by his desire to be the leader of a team, but the player has rejected those claims, insisting it was the "new challenge" that inspired the switch.
"I do not want to be the only star, I wanted to come to Paris because I wanted something different, a new challenge. Not because I did not feel valued," he said, according to Marca.
"I have not come here for a more prominent role for myself. What PSG deserve is for me to give everything for the badge."
The 25-year-old scored 105 goals and assisted a further 80 strikes in 186 matches for the Blaugrana.
