Maritzburg: We Don’t Need To Panic
Maritzburg United Concerned For Drop In Form
Maritzburg United are concerned about the team's drop in form but are not rattled as yet, according to the team’s chairman.
Following their impressive start to the 2017/18 season with three wins in their opening three games in the league and MTN8 respectively, Maritzburg suffered a loss of form in their most recent games.
The Team of Choice hasn’t won a single game out of their last six in their Absa Premiership campaign as the KZN outfit has drawn three and lost three out of the six, picking up only three points out of a possible 18.
The club’s chairman, Farook Kadodia, thinks that their opponents have studied Fadlu Davids’ side and are preparing better for them.
“There are challenges (that) come with the type of exciting football the club wants to play. I think teams watched us in the MTN8, they did their video analysis and worked out how to stop Maritzburg. Teams have been parking the bus against us and adopting a defensive approach,” Kadodia told the club’s official website.
“We don’t need to panic. We understand Fadlu is a new coach. He did very well last season and at the start of this season. I firmly believe he is on the right track.
“Sometimes you have the situation of a coach losing the dressing room but I am confident Fadlu continues to have the respect of the players and this is very important.
“The technical team is working to try and get plan B and C in place. I know the coach and technical team will have a strategy to come back strongly after the break when we play Bidvest Wits and Polokwane City in one week. I’m very confident things will turn around. We have quality players, Fadlu will look at Plan B and Plan C,” concluded the chairman.
